An Amateur's Guide to Using a Digital Video Camera


Photography is not just art. It’s your canvas where you capture the world through your eyes. Exposure Triangle:



For starters, get your hands on the 3 factors: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO for a better outcome. It’s important to understand the relationships between these three controls. When even one of them gets adjusted, you would usually have to consider at least one of the others too, to get the desired results from your digital video camera with 4k. Auto mode does take care of these, but there is a difference when you compare it with a picture clicked  using a full-frame mirrorless camera. It’s always better to learn how to use these three controllers on any digital camera, and ultimately shoot in Manual mode.


Use a polarizing filter:



It’s always beneficial to use a polarizer before any other lens, while using a full-frame mirrorless camera, and we recommend using a circular polarizer because it allows your digital camera to benefit (TTL) metering such an auto-exposure.

This filter also reduces water reflection and other reflections that may rise from metal and glass. You will get more improved colour for the sky and give your photos a great filter.

Depth Creation:



It is always a big challenge for a photographer to deliver the experience of a photograph to the viewer. This is achievable when you click using the landscape mode. Hence, always prefer a wide-angle lens in your full-frame mirrorless camera when taking panoramic photos and a small aperture of f/16 to keep the BG sharp. Using a tripod while shooting will help you  attain lower shutter speeds.

Never use a flash indoors:

Never use flash while capturing images with your digital video cameras when you are indoor or in closed places. There are multiple ways to add natural light to your image without using flash. Here’s a pro tip: Push the ISO up! It will make a big difference in the shutter speed. Always use wide aperture as this will help more light to pass the sensor and you will get the perfect low light image/video.
