Steps To Clean a Front Load Washing Machine

Front-load washing machines are more energy-efficient and also wash clothes without any wear and tear. Apart from this, another great benefit of a front load washing machine is its efficiency to wash with minimum water and detergent as compared to other models. No matter the washing machine type, proper care and cleaning is a must for proper efficiency and longer life. Like other machines, a front load washing machine can also be filled with mould and nasty smell if not cleaned. Therefore, giving your fully automatic washing machine or semi-automatic washing machine a quick cleaning once a month can improve its life and its efficiency to wash clothes. Just follow these easy steps to clean your front load washing machine:

Run a Wash Cycle With 2 Cups of Vinegar

You can remove any musty smell from your front load washing machine by adding 2 cups of vinegar in the detergent tray. This will help in eliminating any unpleasant odour-causing deposits or residue. Also, make sure the drum of your washer is empty, then select the ‘clean cycle’ or ‘tub clean’ setting on your washing machine. Allow it to run on a complete wash and rinse cycle.

Remove and Clean The Detergent Dispenser

Cleaning the detergent dispenser is very important. To clean it, take it out from the body of the front load washing machine and soak it in warm water for a few minutes. Then, take the panel out and spray some all-purpose cleaner. Wipe it clean with a cloth and put it back to its place. If your fully automatic washing machine has a fabric softener dispenser, make sure you wipe and clean that as well.

Check Hair or Dust

Sometimes dust gets accumulated on the gasket of the front load washing machine which may affect the cleaning process. Also, if you have a pet at home, you must keep a check on the gasket of the washing machine to see if there are any hair strands. Wipe it up with a cloth and if your gasket gets dusty often, keep the door of your washing machine closed.

Run a Hot Wash Cycle With 2 Cups Bleach

Give your fully automatic washing machine a hot water wash with bleach by putting the machine on the clean cycle again. Add 2 cups of bleach to the detergent tray to remove any stains and germs in the washtub. Now, allow the machine to run again through a complete wash and rinse cycle.

Health is the greatest wealth!
And in the current pandemic situation, it is even more important to maintain hygiene. So, keep the above-mentioned points in your mind to make sure your washing machine is germ-free and runs smoothly for a longer time.
