AC servicing and important preventive measures

 During summer, the air conditioner is used throughout. It's what helps us survive the heat and keep cool. However, lack of maintenance and cleaning in the air conditioner can cause numerous issues in the air conditioner. To clean the filter, switch off the air conditioner, remove the filters and clean it with a vacuum cleaner or with soapy water. Let it air-dry, and then put it back in the machine. Make sure you don’t scrub hard or twist the filter, as it can get damaged.  

Here are some other things that you can do for AC malfunction prevention:  

· Occasionally pass a strong wire through the air conditioner drain channels. Congested drain channels prevent the air conditioner from reducing humidity, and the resulting excess moisture may discolour walls or carpets.   

· Try keeping the doors and windows closed when using the air conditioner to contain the cool airflow.   

· Avoid smoking in air-conditioned spaces, as it is detrimental to one's health and can also hamper the airflow of the room with an increase in carbon dioxide.  

· Be aware of the thermostat. Do not let it run at maximum for too long, as this will damage the air conditioning unit.   

· Cover the ac in the winter season to prevent the ac unit from dust. Covering the outdoor unit with a central air conditioner will protect the unit from winter weather and debris.  

· If your air conditioner needs more than regular maintenance, such as when it does not reduce the indoor temperature to a comfortable level, call a professional ac service centre technician. A well-trained ac service technician will easily locate and address problems in your air conditioner.
